Looks like you need about 10 more days to finish this rut out.

Abso-freaking-lutely. Would like to get at least one weekend in Feb. That's when the big'uns have to start looking and chasing in daylight. Just 2 or 3 days would be fine. We are in the south area of the county and our little ones are chasing and looking. We just have to continue to be the "squeaky wheel" and hope for a little grease, anyway.

That's strange my bucks in the southern zone have been rutting since New Years in Macon county just south of the line. Not really all that strange.

Eskimo I hunt about 2 miles from Chambers County line in Southwest corner of Randolph County. I feel your pain every year. I have never seen a buck chasing a doe before January 30 on my lease. I've been seeing some decent 2.5-3.5 year old bucks out looking but that's not the ones I'm after. That mature buck isn't going to come out of the thick stuff till after dark unless a doe brings him out of there. I jumped the one I'm after today on my way to the last hunt of the season and guess what? He was bedded by himself, no doe. I could use another 2 weeks like South Alabama. Anybody else agree? yea I saw one of the best bucks that I have seen on our property thurs @11:17 wide open right behind a doe and i was disappointed when I had to pack up Saturday and quit hunting just when things were heating up

Yup, same way in North Randolph county for the "Prime" rut..
