2 grand would be a heck of a deal. I've seen them as much as 5K/year and more. Split with 3 guys that ain't too bad if there are historically ducks consistently killed out of it.
If you have access to public land that makes it a plus because when the field freezes (and it will) or you just want a change of scenery, you need to have plan B. Hunt the river in the morning and the field the afternoon if you don't limit.
My advice would be do some sleuthing on your own to find out what is going with the field. A lot of farmers make cash money on a pit then can't be found when the field needs water, the levee needs to be fixed, or anything else. And once they have your money, you ain't getting a dime back no matter what your deal was prior to the season. I've seen more people screwed over on a pit blind deal than any other deal.
Just be real careful, man. If you've hunted the pit or know someone REALLY well that has and you trust the info, go for it. Otherwise, you take a big risk.

The only bad thing about leasing justnone pit is if you hunt it everyday you are goinf to shoot it up. You need to be able to rotate. If you are close to public land then you should be ok. Another thing to think about too is you need to let the birds rest. Dont sit in a pit allday trying to kill a limit. Make yourself leave by 11 so the birds can rest. I have seen it happen many times where people will get in a club and the club members sit there allday trying to limit on ducks and geese. When in reality all you are doing is making it worse for the coming days. Unless you get a big push of birds. If you are hunting the same blind all year you have got to limit the time in them. Also this year there was onw big push of birds. The birds get smart and if you sit there allday they will stop hitting that field. Just some things to think about. Know of a guide that leaves by 8 and on really really slow days, no later than 9. His place kills birds.

I'm not saying wrong, just never heard of people leaving that early.

I'll ad you gotta be careful leasing pits. A few years back when the craze took off, farmers were sinking pits where ever they could. A lot of disappointed hunters for a few years. I don't blame the farmers though, hunters were begging for pits and paying ridiculous amounts to get one. Outbidding the following season was common so pits that were doing well kept quiet.
I think it's kinda heading that way again.
