OK, we are planning a 8 day trip to Disney World in May, one of the purchases I am looking at is a decent sized cooler (family of 6) that will keep ice for more than a day. I am looking at the Yeti 110, but I keep coming back to the question; do I want to spend that much $$ for a cooler, is it worth it? I intend to use the cooler for fishing trips with the boys and if I find a place that has a good population of hogs that we can kill then I will quarter what we kill and put it in the cooler for the trip home.

Is the Yeti worth it or is there a less expensive alternative?
thanks.

GET YOU A GOOD COLEMAN AND BE DONE WITH IT. IF YOU WANT TO GO THE YETI ROUTE THEN LOOK AT THESE. THEY ARE JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER AND COST LESS

Yeti are heavy, for the big ones you don't reach down and grab them by one handle and lift them into the back of the truck. You get your wife, child, buddy or complete stranger to grab a handle and you grab the other to load.

It takes a pretty stout fella to pick up a loaded 110 quart cooler, of any brand, and put it in a truck.

Depending on how much the cooler, and how far you are from ice, you can buy quite a few bags of ice, Before making up the cost difference between a yeti and an igloo or something comparable

Unless it's full of Light beer.... grin

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I would buy anything but a Coleman. Bunch of anti gun folks. The outlet store in Foley will let you know it because its on the door and as you walk by on your way to the mossy oak store.

If you are putting the cooler in you motel room you don't need a $23,234 cooler to keep ice. You can get ice from the ice maker in the motel anyway.

I have a 65 quart Yeti and a 120 quart K2. I like the K2 better.

I have recently become a Yeti fan, I have three of them, they have payed for themselves in ice savings. If you only use a coller a couple of times a year, then I say don't buy one, but I have a cooler in my truck 365 and the other two get used weekly.

I have 3 yetis, and love them. I like them for their durability and toughness. All the other brands seem to just look shoddy to me. I've seen a pelican, and orca both have the outside layer bubble up and come free from the insulation.

I have a 50qt Yeti that will hold ALOT of drinks and two bags of ice. And that thing is heavy when loaded. Can't imagine what a loaded 110 would weigh. We just reload the 50 when it gets low. We have a bunch of Yeti's, and I don't think any of the knockoffs hold I've as well. I have friends with the Engels and they will restock their ice way before I do.

I have had Yeti, Icytek, and now K-2. K-2 is by far the best cooler out there for the money. I liked it so much that I called them to brag on it and after a short discussion, I was invited to be on the Pro Staff. Pretty cool. thumbup

110 too big . Get the 45. Keep a lock on it. Not the yeti made bracket but a bicycle cable and key lock.
If you use a cooler often Its worth it.

I work at Airgas in Pelham and you can get a Pelican cooler from us at $265 for a 65 qt and for a 150 qt will run you $450. I dont have in stock at this moment but, could have them in 7 days.
Look up Pelican coolers online and you can see the spec's for them. We have a lot of folks buying them instead of the Yeti because they are built similarly and are durable.
Just thought I'd give you another option.

lol Dead on. I was at one of those do-it-yourself Ice vending machines one day to fill up my cooler. guy in front of me had a large YETI (don't remember the size) but he filled it to the brim with ice. closed the lid and went to put it back in the truck and couldn't get it off the ground. so he dragged it to the back of the truck and tried again. NOPE. I got out kinda chuckling and without saying a word grabbed the other end and helped lift it into the back of the truck. He just kinda nervously said "thanks" and left.

Buy you a Coleman, then after a year of "using" it,throw it away and get another one, repeat this every few years or go ahead and spend the money and get a yeti or k2 that are durable and will hold up,I've owned no telling how many coolers in my life and there's no comparing a cheap Coleman to one of the molded brands

I have a Yeti, I guess its a 44. Nice cooler and its not all that heavy when loaded. What I don't like is the handles have a pinch point because they are not long enough. I got it as a gift and would not buy one at the current level pricing. I can buy a lot of ice to cover the ROI of the cooler.

I have a Yeti 75 qt. it's HEAVY when loaded. If you use it all the time, like I do, it's well worth the money. I've heard the Pelican is better but I have no experience with them.
