I jumped a pretty good buck walking in on my last hunt of the season this afternoon but couldn't get a shot. I went to my spot and ended up seeing a spike with about 2" antlers. So, my season ended without even firing a shot. It was a great season though. My oldest boy killed a 6 pointer and doe. My younger twin boys got to go on their first deer hunt this year and they both loved it, so it looks like I'll be building a double shoot house or two this year. I even got my wife to go hunting once this season. I saw a lot of deer and had several in the scope, just not what I was looking for. I had a great time working the land, hunting, spending time with family and friends, spent a lot of time talking to God, was blessed enough for my boy to take a few deer for the freezer and came home safe. Good Lord willing, we'll be back at it next season.

Sounds like a successful season, even if you didn't pull the trigger! At least you know there is a big un there for next season.
