So I not new to hunting but new to using calls cause for years I just sat an waited. My question is when is the right time to use the doe call or the gunt call? Is there even a such thing as a right or wrong time? Thanks in advance for the input.

I don't know a great deal about calls but I do know this; If a buck is approaching that is a bad time to use any call at all

If you see a buck in the distance heading away, try to call him. If he is in your vicinity, he will most likely lock in and know almost exactly where you are within feet. I generally do not just blind call, but if you do use a doe bleat and ensure deer are not too close.

Only bucked I called in was a small 6 point, I did it 3 times that season. However I've called in a bunch of does with the doe can and fawn bleat, mostly early season.

That was mainly my question an I must have worded it wrong... I was asking when in the season do you use these calls. Fawn bleat of course would be early early season but what about the doe bleat?(pre rut an rut??)

I think it's a bit rough to say specific times to call. I think something along the lines of early season use young bucks and fawn calls. Pre-rut / rut think buck roar, doe estrous, and fawn in distress. Post rut / late season think about doe calls again.

Any time of the season ANY deer may come to a doe grunt, but there are times when an estrus bleat will push does in the other direction, and times when a buck grunt will spook a shy buck.

I called in two does today with a fawn bleat. I was hunting a firebreak and saw them at about 300 yards. They disappeared before I could get a shot. After about 45 minutes, I decided to give the fawn bleat a try. I blew a few times and both does came running out at 100 yards. The leading doe left in the back of my truck.
