up until i saw those two i have never saw that kind of hawk before and seen any more like them since either come to think of it .

yep !!! but not a lot smaller

Fred are they common in central Al. ? when we picked cotton they would fly around us catching big grass hoppers . i never saw them when i cut stalks . i figured the red tails scared them .

the sharp shinned hawks I've seen look just like Coopers but smaller, faster flyers.

fred , hell if i can tell . it's one of them . they were fast i know that . they would grab the grass hoppers with their feet not with their bills , if that helps .

Thing had a cool call. This was at work in downtown ttown. Also were some owls going at it this morning not far from him.
