I don't recommend that my daughter get out and change a tire or raise the hood on a lonely stretch of Interstate. I would much rather her sit tight with the doors locked and wait on help to arrive, someone that She called, not someone that saw a girl alone and stopped to "help". I know that most people would genuinely want to help but it's those few that would be up to no good that worries Me. A car that looks like it is broken down and left there would certainly draw less attention than a girl trying to change a tire herself. Some warm clothes or sleeping bag and pepper spray and/or handgun, extra cell battery and cell booster.

We have packs in our cars. I have water snacks hot hands. Glock extra ammo. Tools to cover any small repair. Road flares toss the jack and lug wrench that comes with the car.
