Bang/flop. Killed my second one that way. Just like shooting pool. Its all about angles. Get the bullet to the vitals. My gun has no problem pushing a .30 caliber bullet thru ones a** and into his vitals. I wouldn't take that shot with a .243, but i would with my .300 win mag.

IF you shoot a controlled expansion bullet there is nothing wrong with that shot. I shoot Nosler Partitions and have killed several with that shot, usually DRT.


I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

actually pulled this shot off more or less on accident. deer was lightly quarting but move at the lasf second, couldnt find bullet hole, lifted tail and thete was the blood. friends call it the alabama heart shot. bang, flop. insides were destroyed, guts looked like a bowl of chili,

It would seem that would cause the most damage.. bullet going 5' through the deer vs 2 ft.
