Maybe you could try a local bow shop. They may have a used bow with one on it that they would take off.

Be ready to buy you one after you shoot it.......
I have yet to shoot at a deer, but my confidence level has increased x 10 since making the switch.

You wanting the slider or the dial? Or does it matter?

I was leaning toward the dial model but haven't had hands on either model to decide.

I've got the slider, it works just fine. I don't see how the dial would be any better ... I'm seeing lots of them for $100 on eBay

I don't see how anyone shoots a single pin sight ON DEER. Lots of time there is not time to adjust the sight on a deer, esp bucks in the rut. I don't shoot a compound much but I have a five pin set up.

Dial is better if you need to set the yardage quickly. And the dial is more precise(finer adjustment).

Works just fine Troy. I've never had an issue, but I do practice out to 40 yards with it set on 25 yards so I will know where to aim if a situation arises where I can't adjust it. With the speeds today's bows are shooting, there's not as much arrow drop between 25 and 40 yards as you would think.

I bought a used hha with the dial off AT. Maybe it will be delivered next week.
I think it has the .019 pin size. I'll post up my findings when I get it.

best thing I ever done for my mathews was toss the 3 pin sight and go with this dial single pin. and just like I read from 20 to 40 yards shootting 300/320 fps arrow drop is almost nothing, so if you have to take a shot without dialing it isnt a problem. I just cant imagine going back to mulitple pins and looking thru the peep at all those colors, so unneeded imo

I just bought a new HHA OL5519 slider WITHOUT the Fiberoptic adjustable cover at BPS. Only looked at the OL3000 and this one that i purchased, but reading online about the other model with the Fiberoptic reostat, round dial, etc. Any reason I should have gone with the other models?

So you bought a sight and now you ask for opinions???

The reostat feature is nice. I use it often. Round dial is nicer as well. Cost more. Gotta weigh your options I guess.

Moose24,
It's in the box, so I can return/trade at the local BPS when I return. I'm in Orlando now and just picked from what they brought from behind the counter. The guy there didn't know about any other models, so I just bought the one that looked like it was more well built (thicker sight window, more feet of Fiberoptic wire). Then i read a few pages (including this one) about all the other options offered.

So,yes, I bought the sight and now I'm asking for opinions on other features that are available.

Thanks.

I've never owned the version with the rheostat. To me that's a useless feature on a hunting sight. If I was going to shoot tournaments it would be useful. As for the slide or dial, I prefer the dial. It's easier to adjust and you can also fine tune the yardage in case you change out your string or something. With the slide, you almost always have to change out the sight tape.

Shaw, That Rheostat feature is not as useless for hunting as you might think. It gives you total control over the brightness of your pin. I think it's a great feature and I use it often. My 2 cents.
