How much land do you own? And how much land would you want and still be able to effectively manage it?

I own 1.8 acres. To effectively manage, I'd say 500 is a minimum. All depends on your neighbors though. Surrounded by farmers that never have anyone hunting? Get yourself 100 acres and love it.

I own 30. I would like to own about 200-300. To me, that seems like a manageable number.

I own 0 acres. I'd like to have 4k in one block in either russell, jackson, or montgomery counties. I would then have another 5-8k in kansas that I would manage for ducks and deer, and another 5-8k in missouri that I would manage the same way. When I win the lottery, we can have a aldeer hunt giveaway for all these places.

Would really like about 5,000.

I would find a way to manage it.

I own 200 acres.Bordering me on 3 sides are landowners that only take deer with minimum 4 pts on 1 side and have hunted that way since '98.The 4th boundary is owned by some old codger that I've only met twice since '98 & he don't hunt.I don't have any trouble seeing deer. I like it.

IMHO, the more you own the easier it would be to manage....

I own about 1/2 an acre in a subdivision. But skip & ThisIdu are my new best friends. Can't wait to get my invitation to hunt with them. They are the best!

I owned 99 but gave a small piece of it to my family, and mitigated a few acres of wetland (basically still mine except on paper). I have some lots and rental property scattered around but I don't count that. If I'm dreaming, I would love to own the 320 that backs up to me. And nice chunk in the black belt would be nice as well, while I'm dreaming...

I know everyone would love to have 1000s of acres, I was just curious how much land most of you think you could maintain and manage while also balancing family and work

Not really sure what "manage" means. If it's all forest land there's not a ton of land management to be done besides bushhogging roads and fields. If you're talking about "killing does" type of management, I'm sure people could find a way.

Everyone who I know that owns land just wants more, so there's no way to give a good number.

I could easily manage 1000 acres. I don't own that much but managing wouldn't be a problem

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

240 ac. in Alabama, but deer numbers got so low I joined a lease here at home (Florida) and am not gonna deer hunt the Alabama property for a couple years and see what happens. It's loaded with turkeys though.
