Saw a buck cruising yesterday he was around does and showed no interest. I'm hoping it picks up next weekend. I've never seen the rut up there hopefully this year with the extended season I will. Anyone have any luck in evergreen this weekend?

I hunted friday through sunday morning close to the sepulga river on Hwy 31. Saw some small bucks cruising and I did kill an old half rack 5 point but he barely stunk and was just slowly moving through the hardwoods. Last year this coming weekend and the first week of February we saw a lot of action hopefully it is the same this year.

Hunted the last two days.
Tuesday morning: watched a young 4 pt chase 4 or 5 does back and forth for about 2 or 3 minutes before they all went out of sight.
Tuesday afternoon: 3 yr old 6 point (4x2) came in food plot with 3 does already in it. He fed for 10 minutes or so. Did not pay a bit of attention to any of the 3 does.
Wednesday morning: didn't see a thing
Wednesday afternoon: Saw 1 doe that still has two fawns with it. One of the two had buttons.

I'm above Owassa and I saw a broke off 6 point chasing a doe at 9:30 yesterday morning, had a small racked buck trailing a doe this morning and grunting every breath, shot and missed a buck at 8:30 this morning that came through cruising,I had a small window to shoot through and I think I shot high,a logging crew on our place saw one on a doe after 10 this morning,it's getting good on our club
