Set up in some thinned pines watching a hwd draw where another hwd draw meets hoping to see some rut activity. good luck everybody!

Sitting where the hardwoods meet the pines, waiting for the deer to cruise through.

This hunt started off kinda crazy... Land owner thought I was on his property... Got kinda tense there for s little bit but we got it worked out.... Now the duck hunters are blastin away should be a good mornin...

just had a buck chase o doe through..couldnt tell what he was but he was hot n heavy after her

Sounds like a war zone in here. 3-4 shots every minute or so. Either they are bad shots or the duck population is a taking a hit this morning.

small 8pt just came through and bedded down right by me. he had a big gash in his left hind quarter.

I got skunked this morning. Headed back out right after lunch.

Ended up seeing one, got within 6 yards and couldn't get a shot off. The frustrations of bowhunting continue.

I messed up last night, I was doing some tweaking on my bow and got it out of kilter. I messed with it till about 10 last nite and threw in the towell.
Got it straightened out today, shortened draw 1/2", raised peep up, lowered arrow
Rest. Shooting a lot tighter groups now. 1 fixed pin is all I have. Dead on at 20, about 2 " low at 30.
After em in the morning

got out at lunch got a bite picked up the little one back in the woods for an afternoon sit...he missed a spike...wouldve been his first buck...he was a little ticked off! good times tho!!

bamafarmer is your lil one bow hunting? My 9 year old will be starting next year, just wondering if you have any lessons learned about helping them get started in the right direction. Right now I plan to hang a lock-on next to his ladder or loc-on and hope I can coach him through it.

Klow53 no he is not bow hunting yet. he is just rifle hunting now. he is 6 and small framed so he is gonna have a little while to grow into a bow.
