So right after I got my bow last year, I popped my arm. I try to keep arm bent and out of the way, and haven't had much problem until lately. The last few times I have shot have ended up like the pic below.

Is this caused by having too long of a draw length? It also seems like it's in my head.

My guess is that your draw length is set to long. Another thing you can do is add a string stop, seems like they help some, but the first things I would check would be your draw & form.

too long of a draw makes it easier to do, but it really boils down to form. I can shoot a bow that's a bit too long, and won't ever do it, but that is because I keep the form the same in my left arm, and actually change my anchor on bows that are too long or too short. Typically you would rather have a bow that's too short for you, rather than too long.

When I try to concentrate on for and keeping my arm out of the way, I end up losing accuracy. Thats what makes me wonder if this is in my head.

The key to being accurate with a bow is consistency. It's just like a golf swing. You have to do the same thing every time, because everything you do impacts the result. Your grip, your strain, the bend in your elbow, torque in your wrist, follow through, eyes open or closed, trigger pull, anchor point, foot placement, etc. Pick an anchor point, and make it the same every time. I put my thumb against my jaw, and string against the tip of my nose. Find a spot in your hand that you are comfortable, and stick with it. Same thing with the bend in your elbow, etc. Focus on these things, and practice practice practice. Worry about doing the same things every time, not about hitting your arm. If you do it enough, it becomes second nature. Then you can start to do it without thinking.

You may be putting too much of your palm on the grip as well. Doing so rolls your arm in towards the string.

Shoot with your elbow out, not elbow down. It won't ever happen again.

This is it. I knew Shaw would have the correct answer.
