3 one afternoon hunting a creek bottom near Ft Benning. No shot available though. Right before dark I shot 2 does. As I was finishing field dressing them an pack of what sounded like 30 of them to me (I'm sure there were less than a dozen though) started sounding off across the creek from me from what I'm guessing to be about 50-70 yds from me. My flashlight didn't seem to bother them at all. My 4 wheeler was back at camp so I laid my extra orange toboggan and one of my socks on one of the does and dragged the other one back to camp. I didn't meet with the 4 wheeler trail until about 100 yds from camp anyway. My buddy had used the 4 wheeler that morning and had forgotten to give the key back to me. He wasn't back at camp yet because he had hunted pretty far from camp and had killed one himself, so I went back for the other doe on foot. When I got back the yotes were raising cain as I approached the area, and I feared that I had just fed the yotes. As I neared the area I yelled out and the woods got quiet. But I was pleasantly surprised when I got there and found the toboggan a few feet from the deer but the deer was unmolested. Most of the guys I hunted with there wouldn't hunt that area because of the yotes.

Killed 3 out of 4 once, with a rifle...they just wouldn't leave! Trapped 14 or 15 in about 4 months behind my old house when I started hearing them...if there were any left in that pack, they went elsewhere.

I've never seen more than 1 while hunting but I have seen several times where other coyotes have circled and paced around coyotes that I had trapped. That's why I rarely make single sets anymore.

Killed a bunch but have never seen more than one at a time. Killed one and 20mins later I got down to go get him. Gun on shoulder taking a pic and another one came walking out of the woods 10yds from me. He saw me at the same time I saw him. Game over. We hear them in packs all the time. Day or night. Heard a pack at 11am a couple weeks ago.

When we used to hunt down there beside you, Whittson used to have cows in his pasture. One bow season he a ton of calves drop and yotes were every where. I can remember seeing 5-6 in packs and one was solid black. Only got one of them with a bow. Do they still holler around 5:00 pm when the train whistle blows?

Drake. You still hear them start up howling @ dark although they don't seem as bad as they used to be. This year sightings have been up though. I think after deer season is over I'll take a Foxpro and see if I can dent the population some.

Most I've ever seen together in Alabama is two. They chased a dog down a creek I was watching one afternoon and as the yotes went by I killed the one in the lead. The other one ran down the creek and stopped to look back and caught a 7mm bullet in his left nostril.

That little dog circled around and came back and laid down beside me and she and I watched that creek together for the rest of the afternoon. Pretty little dog that I wound up giving to a local down there.

I've seen 3 or 4 at a time. One morning before daylight In Jackson county I heard three different packs howling, I guess at each other. Sounded like 30 or 40. A gobbler flew down later and instead of landing in the hollow like I hoped he would it looked like he was on his way to Georgia. Didn't hear any more birds that morning.

I saw a group of about 10 chasing 2 does in Bankhead one morning. I was on the ground and they all came within 20 yards.

It was a mixture of pups and grown ones.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I bet there was that many in that pack that got after us in Nebraska a few years back.

It gets hairy when you are sitting under a tree full of gobblers waiting on daylight and all of a sudden yotes go to barking and howling within 15-20 yards all around you. It was so dark we couldn't see our hands in front of our face.

Fun times.

I live about 200 yards from the volunteer fire dept. A couple of weeks ago they were testing the tornado siren. I walked outside about the time they were testing the siren, and don't know how many yotes it was, but it sounded like a thousand!

While I was leaving the stand yesterday evening a train nearby was going through. After it went by a pack started up between me and the truck. I don't know if it was going to take all 5 shots in my magazine to kill them but I knew how many I was going to fire.

The most I have ever seen in Alabama is 2 at a time. In Kentucky, I saw 8 together.
