The people that operate the wells had over $400k damage to equipment over there. Maybe they will get the crack-heads out of there at night. Found a pipe on ground out there last year look like it fell out of someones truck on gas pumping station. Glad to see there presence being shown. Need some un-marked trucks next!

That's probably one of the main reason for so many gates staying locked.

Which umbrella did you buy. I got an Allen brand for Christmas, used it on Saturday. It wouldn't come out of the tree. Went back Sunday with pliers and still couldn't get it loose. I tried "wiggle" it loose and broke the dang screw off in the tree.

Picked up a Field and Stream Magnum ground blind tonight, wasted no time opening it, spraying it down with scent killer and hope to use it in the morning. I thought the openings would be larger to shoot throught since I am bowhunting, but it should still get the job done and will be just fine for the gun hunt this weekend. It's going to be damn cold to be sitting in the tree tomorrow. I would rather be wearing my black winter coat inside the blind then my not so warm camo setup. I'm going to stay in roughly the same area off of hwy 10, but get out of the open areas that I have been hunting and head back to the thick stuff with the storm front getting ready to come through I hope they start heading for cover.

I'm going to try and go out for a few hours tomorrow. I won't be out there til 8:00, but I haven't seen much of anything this week. Saw one doe today while bow hunting and some scrapes and tracks post last weekends storms. I'm getting the feeling that I missed the prime time last week. I know where several good bucks had been roaming, but I haven't found many does, let alone a hot one.

Things seem to have died down. I know the weather was not favorable over the weekend, but I didn't see anything other than someone driving in where they weren't suppose to and then listened to someone doing a drive with their 4 wheeler in a clear cut, the way they were tearing ass through there had a purpose and the shot I heard halfway through their ride proved what I was thinking. Hope they didn't get my bruiser I had seen two weeks prior. Was hoping to get out with the bow Thursday morning, but now have to work til 7am so I wouldn't be getting set til 8-8:30

THEY ARE RUTTING HARD AND NOT CHECKING SCRAPES BUT MAYBE 2 TIMES A WEEK FROM CAMERA EVIDENCE IM GATHERING.. IM RUNNING 18 CAMERAS OUT THERE

Ummm, wow not that I needed more evidence, but this is another contributing factor to deer going nocturnal. Going in and out of the woods to check cams, feeding, riding ATVs all add up to way more pressure on the deer than there used to be. I don't enter my property unless I'm hunting from three weeks before the season till it's over. Some folks are way passed overkill on this stuff. Why in The world would u need 18 cameras, lol???

Originally it was just 6 cameras. But after having a camera stolen once, he realized he needed 6 cameras to keep an eye on them. Then he needed 6 more to watch those cameras. Waiting on next batch of cameras to be delivered any day now. LOL Just kidding. slap

Just thinking about all those cameras makes my head spin. How do you have time to hunt?

He might have a job checking the wells for the surveillance company that runs the security cameras? Working and protecting their assetts. Just guessing...lol?

I CAN ASSURE YOU 18 CAMS ON 40,000 ACRES OF LAND IS NOT PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE DEER I HUNT I CHECK THEM ONLY WHEN I HUNT AN AREA A CAMERA IS PLACED. I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE RUN UP TO 10 CAMERAS WITH IN A 200 ACRE TRACT AND CHECK THEM EVERY 3 DAYS THE WHOLE SEASON.. AND THE DEER BEING NOCTURNAL IS ALL B.S. THERE HAVE BEEN RIGHT AT 200 BEER KILLED ON CAHABA THIS GUN SEASON ALONE, GRANTED MOST YOUNG DEER BUT THEY ARE STILL DEER. YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW WHERE TO HUNT AND HOW TO HUNT IT, I HAVE AVERAGED SEEING 5-8 DEER EVERY OUTING

Just as pea ridge said the deer are not strictly nocturnal. I have a small lease that borders the WMA on 3 sides. My buddy killed a good 9 point 3 weeks ago. I am still trying to find an 8 point I shot Sunday not 75 yards from the WMA line and saw a 4 point this morning. I saw both bucks in the same area at around 730. They were cruising. The 8 had his head down as he came through.

I'm starting to feel like they are paired up and have gone nocturnal(lockdown) on top of all the pressure they have received the last few weeks with the gun hunts. I have only seen one lone doe in 2.5 weeks. I walked a bit today to see what has been out since the storm over the weekend and I am seeing some rather large tracks with the dew claws showing paired with smaller ones, which could just be some older does with yearlings, but the larger tracks are in areas where I know there to be several bucks(Also seeing turkey tracks and heard one going nuts this morning!). I haven't arrowed a deer in 6 years and I am beginning to think it's going to be at least a 7th until I get to release on one and I have been hunting a lot lately out there.

On a side note, anyone know the rough location where the 10 point #224 was shot on the morning of the 20th. I rattled in what I thought to be a 10 with lots of mass that morning at 7am, but missed the opportunity and within the next hour after watching him walk up the hill into the clear cut, I heard a shot. I would HATE to be wasting my time in the same area off hwy 10 a few miles east of the check-in station with him at the taxidermist already!!

Just realized I said east and meant west of the check-in station. I'm not worried about saying too much, since I am not seeing many deer!
