Adam Griffith.

Adam has had a difficult back injury. When a kicker kicks, they often arch their back. There is a small bone in his back that Adam has had problems with when he arches his back when he kicks and until it completely heals he may continue to have problems. Early in the season I think he was 7/7 or something close to that and then he had the injury.

And that I suppose to make people feel more confident going into the playoffs? How bad is the 2nd string guy? I have known crippled hip whores with more kick than this guy has at this point.

Seriously, lets try not to make excuses for a kicker. If the guy is injured, I hate it for him. It's football though, it happens in every single game, every single week. It amazes me that Alabama cannot get a rock solid field goal kicker. They did manage to get a punter that is awesome, but field goals...well. They could literally hold open try outs on the quad, and find someone who'd nail field goals from 40 yds consistently. If this game or the next comes down to Alabama's kicking game, it's a coin flip at best.

It won't come down to a field goal. Remember Notre Dame?

Good Alabama punters have been few and far between but I believe JK Scott is the best of all. I'm telling ya'll, look at the past talent Saban has had and what he has this year(not saying they are bad, just no real superstars except for Cooper and maybe Colins) and this quite possibly the best coaching job of his career.

How did he hurt his back? Probably hurt it trying to make a tackle on a kick return because special teams play has been so poor the last few years the kicker ends up being a tackler too. I think Ragland is the only one that can tackle on special teams.

Reuben Foster said don't forget about him

Foster and Griffith were great in high school. Griffith's touchback percentage in high school was 82%. I know they back up 5 yards in college, but he should have gotten stronger with age, too. But, his kicks are generally around the 10 yard line. They are changing something when they get to Bama and Bobby Williams should get the blame for it, but he won't. Saban will just continue to chew Kiffin and Smart out on the sideline after the special teams puts them in shitty situations.

I agree bill. People keep talking about "when Foster plays defense"... He's a Jerrell Harris. Stud on special teams and physical freak. People should notice that all of Saban's stud LB's play as Freshmen. Hightower, McClain, Moseley, Upshaw, DePriest, Evans, and I'm sure I'm missing some. Foster is at the end of his Sophomore season and he still doesn't get to play defense. He will possibly get some playing time on D as a Senior. He won't play in front of Ragland, Evans, Devall, Anderson, Hamilton, Lee or Williams next year. It's a shame too, because with his size, speed, and power, he could be a difference maker.

Foster has had some great hits. Should have mentioned him too. There is a problem on special teams though. It's got to be coaching related because they use a lot of starters.
