I'm taking my nephew hunting today and it looks like rain most of the day with a SE wind. One of our greenfield is in the middle of a clearcut and this field has produced before but this is the first year that area has been clearcut. Is this a good spot for rain or should I try to get into the pines more?

I would go pines in the rain unless deer are chasing. If they are chasing go where ever you can see the farthest.

Agree with Ben...I have hunted clearcuts for years and i have seen deer bolt outta clearcuts when it starts raining and head for cover.Like he said though if they're chasing in your parts anywhere you can see alot is where I'd be.
