If I'm hunting on my property, but there is corn on the ground on neighbors land (Visible from my land) is it illegal to hunt there? One of the best areas I have to hunt but some jack wagon has corn out and a stand right on top of it on his side of the property. rolleyes

Yes you can get a ticket. We had a food plot that was pretty close to the property line (it had been a log loading area). Our neighbor would hunt from his side of the line constantly. I got there early one morning and got into my shooting house. At about 7am 3 does come into field. This yahoo shoots one of the deer out of my field. He is a crazy guy so I did not say anything. He never knew I was in the house. He drags deer out. I called the GW and explained what had happened. I asked if I put up a feeder could he catch the guy. Warden said yes but that I would not be able to hunt that stand for 10 days after all corn was removed/eaten.

I put feeder up in the middle of the field. About 2 weeks later the warden was sitting in my shooting house and the neighbor shoots a spike from my feeder.

I think he got written up for poaching, trespassing, no license, not filling out game recording paperwork, hunting over bait and no orange.

That was well worth losing a place to hunt, knowing I cost that loser that much money.

I love my country, but don't trust my government.

We had a guy put corn out behind one of our shooting house a few weeks ago. He just bought the land next to us and I believe he doesn't want us hunting our field. The pres marked the field off the board. If I want to hunt the field I'm just gonna climb the other side of the field it's over 100 yds.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

The Alabama version of the baiting rule has to be one of the dumbest out there.
Food plot or corn/rice bran/sweet feed, literally zero difference. But the powers that be in Bama come up with an ambiguous rule that makes law abiding hunters into criminals.

You guys deserve better, that is all.

I think you are fine. I don't see how across the property line could be included within the area over which you are attempting to harvest.

The Bait law needs to read. "_____"

In other words there should not be one.

You have better odds of getting struck by lightning or catching a stray bullet than having to pay a ticket for something like that as long as you don't shoot one across the line.

He said he can see the bait.... It would mean a ticket if caught. We hunted the AL/MS line before baiting was legal in Bama. The MS guys would intentionally bait the line to keep us away. We intentionally screwed their bait areas up with smell/noise until they moved the bait farther onto their land.
