I'm going to build a few shooting houses low to the ground that will be sitting on a couple 6x6 posts so I can pull them around if needed on the lease. Anyone ever done anything like this or have any plans for one? I want something like a 5x6 shooting house sitting on 8' 6x6's that I will cut an angle on the end of to pull. I'm thinking maybe 4 foot to the bottom of it just to get off of the ground.

I've seen it done with some 8 ft elevated houses. They worked good.

Go to craigslist and buy some old utility trailers. Build shooting house on them. Then hook up to the truck or ranger and put where needed. We do that a lot around these big fields. You've seen them where we park em in the middle by the interstate. It works fine

Our lease will be cut in the next few years and the places I hunt now will likely be planted back and thick soon after that. I will put some plots in when they cut next time and move them to the plots then, but for now I think being able to move one a few feet or yards one way or another would be beneficial. When they cut, move them to some high spots where we can shoot a long ways and built permanents on plots. I want some good spots for my son to hunt starting next year the most.

That's an idea and yeah I see them down there where you have them.

Those look good but snagging a rut or tree stump would be bad. Try to get some platform with wheels under them and they'll be awesome

I did it with one and ran a chain between the skids. It was easy to move around but I had it such a good spot we never moved it until we had to due to the scrub growing too high in the woods. I moved it to another good spot until a tornado picked it up and slammed it down. We also have two built on utility trailers and that works great. We haven't moved them in several years except during controlled burns.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

All of the ones that we built are steel framed and on skids I will find you some pics. They work great and also load very easily on a trailer.

Put them on 2x12's lag bolted to the house. Put some big "I" bolts thru the 2x12 and get a big tow strap with some heavy duty d rings. Put the I boktsbon both ends bc u will eventually get it somewhere and need to haul it out backwards.

All of mine that I build are on skids. They are 4x4 houses. I can pull the "slowly" with my rhino or my tractor

I have done it with 4'X4' houses mounted on 4x4 skids. It worked like a champ.

To maintain the integrity of the houses, I wouldn't add legs to the bottom of it, I'd use one 4x4 for the leg and the corners of the house.

I have a cedar shooting house mounted on oak skids. It works well, but its in a hay field. If i have to move it, I have smooth ground to work with.

I bave one, on 4x4 skids. It is 4' x 6' and sits low to the ground, and i use sits comfortably.

I drag it through the woods, no problem, with my tractor. I use a short rope hooked to the front of the skids so when you pull it, the front of the house comes off the ground, where it slides over stuff better.

The only time you have to worry is when you pull it down hill, you just have to make sure tou can stop it without it running over you.

Yekrut, what your wanting to do will work. I'll offer some advice and tell you to put a stiff leg in between the 4x4's that way when you start to pull it, it wont squeeze them together and break something. Don't ask me how I know. Also, drill a hole in each end of the 4x4s and you can run a tow strap thru the holes and hook another one to it to move it around. This is the same thing we do when we build portable buildings and it works fine. I can take a picture to better explain it when I get back to my camper next weekend.

We had a fellow in a club I was in that had some like that but he drilled holes in the end and mounted some wheels on the legs. If he wanted to move it he just laid it over onto the wheels and drug it.
