I've spent lots of $ on useless stuff. Tried it out a couple of times and it won't see daylight again until the next yard sale. What would you consider the one most useful hunting accessory that has greatly improved your success in deer hunting? I do realize that the type/style of hunting determines your gear. Since I'm now an old guy and rarely use a climbing stand I've had to adapt to ground hunting. This involves either stalking or sitting. For stalk hunting my most necessary item is a small pair of pruners. They are tied to a leather cord on a snap link attached to my belt. They fit in my right pants pocket. Absolutely essential for that type of hunting. For sitting again are the pruners to clear out a hole plus fields of fire and head room. This is when the next accessory is essential - a light weight telescopic gun rest. I get comfortable then use the rest to hold my rifle up in a shooting position on my shoulder. By leaning the rifle back slightly the weight keeps it in place. So the rifle is always up and ready. Right hand rests on stock - all I need to do when its time to shoot is drop my head to the scope and place adjust hand to trigger/safety. Very very little movement and no noise. And what have you found to consistently work? thanks

I use our $100 Garmin Nuvi GPS from the car for hunting. It is not weather proof and the battery life is short, but I have topo maps on there and is extremely useful. Hope to upgrade at some point.

Me too. My eyes bother me a lot and I can't see real well, so binoculars are my #1 accessory

Mine is a good scope. I upgraded last year from a $30 Bushnell and it makes a world of difference.
