I guess this question would be in Troy's happy zone. What might be the penalties, fines and such for a 17 year old that was caught night hunting, shooting from the road? He also confessed to shooting a big buck the week before. So he should have a bunch of charges for two different nights on the same court date. He was busted last year and Judge in Madison Co. just slapped his wrist. Now as far as best GW in Alabama, I have a friend over in Madison Co. that's had a night hunting problem that thinks Joe Lindsay took the lead last night.

I know a kid that was in the same boat. I'm pretty sure he had some hefty fines even though he was under 18.

@ 17 he should be handled by Juvenile Court. A lot lighter sentence probably. Maybe a Boot Camp program. He had better understand that his world will change when he has that magic birthday, however.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

He probably wont be able to pay the fines anyway... House arrest with fancy tracking thing school Grades, attendance closely monitored...he fails, 6 mos in jail... And every weekend for the next 5yrs...have him meet you at closest jail...he has to be shower monitor / clean up boy...Fri night thru Sun am
And lose hunting privileges 5 yrs also...

I had an excellent juvenile officer and court in Hale and Greene Counties. Jefferson not so much....
I had a 16 year old, thrown out of his house, that was breaking into cabins in Hale Co, pretty much for stuff to eat. He was headed to prison pretty soon. I talked with the juvenile officer and he told me to get him in court for anything I could and he would handle him. I got him for operating a boat without a regristration . LOL he got ONE YEAR in juvie lockup, OR he could attend welding school....he took the school.
His mother cussed me out after court. The judge heard her and told her to shut up or he's send her to jail for one year as she was to blame for the current problems......

Depends on how connected his dad is. Unfortunately, once it enters the Court System......this is pretty much the case!

He needs to learn to quit telling on himself to police officers if he's gonna keep breaking the law. Lie till you die I didn't say lie. Use the 5th amendment and don't admit guilt of anything until there is an agreement on paper.
