Was it locked?
Used to leave mine unlocked, even keys in it in my driveway...
Last March 30th I found out that was a bad idea...
3 Garmins (3 vehicles robbed), Leupold binos, Nikon rangefinder... bout $40, an old Schrade knife (why I dont know)...wifes CD collection...hope the bastards like Michael Buble' and KC and the Sunshine Band...worst was one of my youngests State Championship rings from her car...

Possibly left it unlocked. No broken windows. I am bad about that. No more though! Things they didn't take, turkey call, ammo, safety harnesses, camo backpack. Looks like they just want stuff easy to sell It's a damn shame you cant live in a place anymore where you have to lock everything that's not rooted down.

I worked for Alabaster PD for 3 years and could prob give you 4 names that I would almost bet money on there were involved. I've been gone from there for almost 15yrs but from checking the Shelby county inmate listing every now and then, they are still up to their old habits. Breaking and Entering! I hate that your stuff got stolen man. I been there done that and its infuriating. Fortunately you had removed your sons rifle. To me though I don't care if its a pair of cheap sunglasses. If you steel them from me, I'm gonna be pissed. Chances are I would have given them to you if you asked. Maybe you will get lucky an the low life that stole your stuff will be caught.

I can remember as a kid we didn't even lock the house when we left, times sure have changed. Now they know you are an "easy" target look for them to come back. Place a trail cam somewhere & bait them up.

Picked up a guy for work monday morning at 6:30, went to his truck to get his wallet out of the console and it was layinh open in the seat. Took cash only out of his wallet and hot a pistol he has had forever. He was pissed all day. He locked his truck and his wifes at 9pm when he went to bed and they had both been gone thru. Thats a brave sole to snoop around while people are awake.
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

So, Pelham police just called us and they found our stuff. Looks like someone tossed it out the window on highway 11
Camera bag was wet but he was able to turn on the camera and see our pictures.
They said it was easy to track us down since our gps had home and our phone number plugged in!!! Good deal!

They said it was easy to track us down since our gps had home and our phone number plugged in!!! Good deal! Glad you got your stuff back. However, if it had been stolen out of your vehicle while you were somewhere else besides home, the fact that your home coordinates were programmed into the GPS unit would have given a more motivated thief the opportunity to clean out your house as well. We used to have our house coordinates programmed in as "home" also, but now we have changed it to the nearest intersection instead (and that is only for the ETA feature).
