I would put that in my pack, and promptly fall right in top of it, but I am sure it would work great.
I take a 3 foot or so piece of rope and tie the ends together. When I need to drag a deer i just make a loop with the rope, and put it around the deers neck and run my hand inside the other loop and go to dragging.
It accomplishes the same thing you are doing.

It accomplishes the same thing you are doing. I do the same thing but I have a piece of heater hose about 10" long on mine for a handle.

Well it wasn't bad, I killed the doe less than 50 yards from my truck, while my dogs in the box was barking.. BUT I know, I know, Dogs spooks every deer on the property away..
