Some of you may remember a thread I started on new years eve of last year about needing a dog to help find a buck I had shot. I shot this buck at 210 yards and was on good blood from the point of impact. I tracked him a couple hundred yards that afternoon and found where he had layed down. I decided to back out and come back the next morning to continue the search. That night I posted on here asking if y'all thought I needed a dog to pick up on the trail the next day. After reading over the post, I decided to bring in the dogs. The only problem, guys with the dogs either couldn't come to DeKalb County or never returned my call. At that point we were left no choice but to look on foot. We picked up where I stopped the evening before and were instantly on good blood. We tracked him up and down ridges for another couple hundred yards, most of the time on good blood. Eventually he bedded down again and we were never able to pick back up on the trail. We combed the mtn for hours, but never found the buck. Fast forward to yesterday. I was hunting the same stand I shot the buck from and got a text from a buddy who owns the adjoining property. He was one of the guys who helped me look for the deer. He was walking out a holler on their property and found my buck. He was about 100 yrds from where we stopped looking. I was sure hopeing he made it, but really didn't believe he did with the amount of blood he lost. Almost year later I finally got to put my hands on him. He's not a monster, but defiantly I buck I'm proud of. Just wish we would of looked a little longer and harder for him, but we really felt we had did our best at the time. Sort of a bitter sweet victory I guess. I will try to get someone to post the pic for me.

Nope still in perfect shape other than bleached by the sun. He's got a 3" sticker coming out his main beam that you can't see in this pic.

Finish up with the skull mount and you will have closure with him. Sorry for the loss. He was a nice deer.
