Our 20 year old washing machine has went out. What is a good kind to get around the 500-600 dollar range? The quicker I can get this thing bought the quicker I can get back in the tree stand!

The first place I check for stuff like that is the scratch and dent section at Lowe's. Found my last dryer that way and got a great deal just because it was a little scratched and scuffed on the side. I always go for the Whirlpool brand.

x2 what Tambo said. Check the scratch 'n sniff aisle at Lowe's or Home Depot to see what they have, and also ask about any Black Friday deals or clearances. Check any local Ma 'n Pa stores, too.

If they say they can't give any Black Friday deals now, tell them you will shop elsewhere. They might flinch.

I just had to purchase a new set this past week. Lowes is running some good sales right now. They delivered free although I did have to buy new hoses. My wife didn't like the washer so we went last night and paid the difference for the next step up washer. They are delivering and swapping them out for us. Pm me if you want more details.

Get the old fashioned top load. We bought the Maytag stand up front load washer and dryer and I hate both.

Ive run many different brands over the years at work and the kids are hell on them. The ones that have been the best bang for my buck are Whirlpool Roper. Dont get none of the fancy add ons and touchscreens and crap. Its just more to break. Short of smething really stupid I can get two years out of one in a 16 boy program. They run pretty much everyday.
