Oh nevermind. Didn't realize you were talking about stupid dog hunter topics. Racists.

Actually.....it did kind of involve everyone!

I have JUST realized that the same changes that made night hunting with dogs illegal in AL also made other things illegal as well....Such as, selling hogs or hog meat and trapping them.

Check out ALA Statutes 9-11-237 and 9-11-245.

Pandora's Box has been opened!

Good catch. I'm sure they will enforce those laws as strictly as they do the laws concerning dog hunting

LOL

He was being helpful!
And, the reply that he got from DCNR is what caused me to think about this....and realize the full implications of the current Game Animal status of feral hogs.

I seriously doubt that you will hear about any tickets written today for hog traps.

But, I would wager the same amount that if you went out dog hunting for hogs tonight and were caught that you would be ticketed!

I will also bet that the VERY people complaining about Lawlessness in the Ferguson Riots and preaching about upholding the Law don't give a crap that our DCNR is breaking the Law and providing Selective Prosecution..........

Because Alabama Law 9-11-245 states the following:

No person shall at any time make use of any pitfall, deadfall, baited field, cage, trap, net, pen, baited hook, snare, poison, explosive, or chemical for the purpose of injuring, capturing, or killing birds or animals protected by law or regulation of this state. This section shall not prevent the trapping of animals classified as fur-bearing animals by a duly licensed fur catcher. It shall be legal to use a scaffold for gun hunting of all legal game species except wild turkey and to use a scaffold for bow hunting of all legal game species.

And, a feral hog is NOT a fur-bearing animal!

The ALDCNR has declared feral hogs a Game Animal at ALL times and that they must be hunted as per State Law concerning Game Animals. Hence the recent change in making it illegal to hunt hogs at night with dogs.

Pretty clear, isn't it??

And why would they declare them a game animal?
