Lets see some load data. I'm just getting started and needing a few load suggestions. I want to try some 130 grain berger vlds. I can't find any already loaded, so I quess ill start there. Any loads would be appreciated.

I don't load that particular bullet but Berger's load manual should cover you.

I have 0 experience with 130s in the 260, but I have lots of info on the 140s. Start with 40 grs of RL-17 and work -up till you get pressure signs. I got mine -up to 45 grs with Lapua brass. It had some light ejector marks. I settled on 44 grs of RL-17 for a winter load. thumbup

Shooters, any idea what your velocity is with 44 grains of reloder 17?

Have you experimented with H4350?

Just got home from hunting club. Yes. I have 2 great chronographs. I hace PVM-21 and Magneto-Speed. I get 2980fps with Lapua brass, 140 Bergers. BUT I have a custom 260 with Bartlein barrel. Work your way up carefully to 44 grs of RL-17. I can shoot 45.5 grains at 3040 fps but IT kills brass! H-4350 has the exact same burn rate as RL-17. I have used 44 grs of H-4350 and got 2900 fps. It grouped 1/2 moa at 600 yards. But RL-17 was better and faster in my gun thumbup

I'm shooting 120 gr. Sierra prohunters now, if the 129 gr. Long range Accubonds is ever in steady supply I'll probably make the switch. It looks like it will be the ultimate 25-500 yard bullet
