Sounds like he didn't have the two pieces tied together and the bottom piece slid all the way down the tree. This is what I was thinking also. Thanks for sharing I will check mine and pass the info along to the guys I hunt with as well.

the stabilizer straps from third hand archery really work well... I'd recommend those to anybody that climbs.

the stabilizer straps from third hand archery really work well... I'd recommend those to anybody that climbs. X2 I have them and they work really good. Not only to tie your stands together but also to secure the top to the bottom. At 30 feet you can lean on the top of your stand without it moving.
