As far as sauce - I have fallen in love with Hancocks in Selma across from the old Walter Craigs. Their meat is bland but their sauce is tomato based, warm and tangy not sweet and runny. Its my favorite. I have 3 pints left. Try it- its different and really good. I always like Lannie's sauce and bbq if I was in Selma. Haven't been there in years...don't know if it's still as good or not. Still open. Had it yesterday with pork skin on top. Its got to be from the original Lannies. Take out BBQ by the pound is good at Lannies #2 but everything else is kinda greasy. You just about need a police escort to get to the original but it's always worth it.

Opened a location here in the Shoals several years ago and we went to try them out. I could not even chew the ribs I was brought. We left and didn't go back. Dreamland closed less than a year later and is all but forgotten. It was the nearest nothing I have ever seen.
I can't stand a thief.

I will bet that Dreamland pre cooks the ribs, then either refrigerates or freezes them then when you order they pop them back on the grill to heat them back up.

I ate there twice and despised it both times.I only ate there a second time because I was with a crowd and was outvoted.Best ribs I ever ate were at "OH So Good" in Oneonta.Second best is the baby backs that they cook in the deli at Albertville foodland. They smoke them on low heat for about 8 hours with byrons butt rub.

I will bet that Dreamland pre cooks the ribs, then either refrigerates or freezes them then when you order they pop them back on the grill to heat them back up. Actually at the original place they don't, they open 'em up outa the plastic and slap them on the grill, direct heat. You can watch them cook right there. If they took a little more care they would taste a lot better, but before the game they sell them faster than they can cook 'em so it doesn't matter. I like the sauce, but I suspect they changed it somehow because now it will give me heartburn later, never had that happen until 4-5 years ago.

Robertson's in Ralph and Sam's Smokehouse in Fayette ain't too shabby either. 100% best places near Tuscaloosa! South or North! No doubt Sam's has the best ribs I've ever eaten. And I love their yellow sauce. Been eating there for over 20 years.
