I HAVE RUN ACROSS 1100 ACRES OF PRIVATE LAND IN THE MIDDLE OF PUBLIC LAND. THERE IS A CLUB THAT BOARDERS IT ON ONE SIDE AND THEY HUNT THE LAND ILLEGALLY. I HAVE FOUND OUT WHAT THE PROPERTY TAXES ARE AND IT RIGHT AT $2,000. THINKING ABOUT ASKING THEM IF I COME UP WITH THE PROPERTY TAX EACH YEAR IF THAT WOULD WORK.. HOW WOULD YALL GO ABOUT IT

I'm doing that on a smaller tract that borders one of my leases. I just called and introduced myself to the lady and asked and she said sure. You never know.

Yeah, I would pay them for it. Just depends what it's worth to you but $2/acre is a steal.

I'll bet you won't be the first call, or the last. I think sometimes a door knock and a hand shake is better, but some may not appreciate that at all. I'd call first and if they show interest, ask to buy lunch or supper and talk it over. I'll take care of and pay for the lawyer to write up a release form and the property insurance, for turkey rights! Lol! Or just pay half and go in on it with you!

If you get it for $2000, I will pay the $2000 and you can hunt for free. Also, face to face is best in my opinion....gotta get a read on them early, find out their interests to BS with them about....don't just start off talking about hunting. ...like if they have a hot rod, or a motorcycle, or horses, or dang near anything to strike up a conversation with them. If you look like a bum covered in tattoos, shave your face, go on a Sunday in khakis and button up shirt and boots....think sophisticated cowboy, not Alabama red neck.

Remember, You will still have this to deal with. They're already poachers, so it will probably take more than some new posted signs to stop it.

If you came to my door BS'ing me like that I'd tell ya to hit the road. I rarely get turned down to hunt private property. I introduce myself in person and cut right to the chase. Even if I'm told "no" I then BS a bit. Come back the next year and do it all over again, usually followed by a "yes"

Chances that whoever bought the property are hunters themselves, or at least know what hunting land leases for? 98%.

I understand your excitement about the land but if somebody just bought 1100 acres I doubt you're doing them any favors by paying $2000 on the property taxes. I'm sure they can afford the taxes. You might be better off just offering to lease the land. If you came to me with that offer after I just paid for 1100 acres you're offer would not impress me. Just my opinion but you never know good luck

Either attitudes are very different I Oregon or you must be a better salesman than you're letting on. In Alabama unless you already know each other, gaining access to hunt is difficult at best.
