Well I'm live from the airplane this morning. For those that are hunting enjoy the peace and quiet today before the shooting starts tomorrow!

I'll be after them today finally. Have only hunted 1 afternoon and a full day so far this season. Going to wait til it starts breaking light and slip into a new area and find a tree to climb. Lots of deer on camera in here and no one has hunted the area this year that I'm aware of. Looking for a big, fat nanny this morning....but I'd settle for a big buck too lol. Regardless, it'll be a successful hunt if I get in and out safely and enjoy some quiet time in the woods.

I'm set up in the thinned pines between a foodplot and a bedding area. Hopefully I'll catch one either getting up to go feed or coming through to bed up. This is our last day of "quiet time".

Just gave a pardon to a doe at 35 yards since she was with twins. Little fellas still looked "fuzzy", but no spots. Makes 5 so far this morning. To be continued...

Bumped one coming in. Caught a glimpse of it but couldn't tell what it was. Ended up 20-25' up a pine on a fire break with another fire break in front about 20 yards. Thick bedding area behind me and a hardwood funnel down to me to my front-right. I believe one slipped through, well crashed through, out of sight just after I settled in. Hoping one crosses these beat down trails across this fire break into the thickness. Beautiful morning so far. Good luck everyone.

Back in where I saw the hogs. Meghan's thread made me late and I lost a contact. Anyway, all I've seen this morning is 575 duzen skwerls. I saw a good buck here 2 weeks ago. I'm setup in hardwoods and acorns are still falling here in coaling, Alabama.

Smoked a big doe about an arrow ago. Shot was kind of high. No pass through but still pretty good blood. I may have bumped her so I backed out. Waiting till 9 then back on her trail.

I can see a couple milling around in the field right now. Maybe I'll get to see them on their way out.

Seen 6 so far this morn. No racks, no shots

2 days of Disney left then I will be getting ready for hunt mode .

I'm live from the surgery center in mobile. My daughter getting her tonsils removed this am.

No deer for me. Saw 6-8 turkeys though and a bunch of squirrels. Heading back out after a while.

Sitting on a few white oaks still dropping. I haven't been in this spot since opening week, maybe I'll surprise one.

Sitting in some hard woods on the edge of a standing corn field. Hunting horns this afternoon cause we got the women hitting the woods tomorrow so some does will be in trouble. Hope all the women hunting tomorrow are on their period!!!!

Decided to bow hunt today instead of muzzleloader. Lot of poop under these trees, they're still dropping good! Two marginal 8pts on camera here daily, but will deflate one with tha shank train!

Nah, that's where we came in to get Emmett's doe out last week.

There's two in the pic. Hell, I can't find the other one now. It's somewhere between the end of my stabilizer and the pine on the far right.

Ended up shooting another one, my buddy stuck me on this dinky tripod, so I decided to go hunt a road bed since I had the ml and bow. About 4 I eased back to the field and climbed in the tripod, as soon as I sat down I'm trying to figure out how to lay my ml and bow down so I can have access to both. I hear deer coming to the field and I still had the gun in my right hand and bow in my left. So I sat the gun behind me and try to get an arrow nocked as a doe steps out at 15 yds. I watched her for a bit and another doe stepped out. Decided to shoot her at about 20. Well I drew back only to realize I can't shoot sitting down with this rail. So I tried to ease to my feet. As soon as I let pressure of the seat the whole stand creaked and the deer pegged me, put it on her and stuck right in the shoulder, high. She ran off and the arrow fell out. As I'm sitting there cussin myself for a bad shot, here comes another doe. I watched her for 10 minutes within 30 yds and didn't even knock and arrow. Well I decide to shoot her just when she decided to leave, rushed to knock an arrow and smoked her at about 35yds. She piled up after making it 20yds. Found my arrow from the first one and it only had blood for a couple inches, looked for a few hours and never found a drop on the ground. I feel awful about it, but hopefully she will make it.
