Nope, having a real hard time finding concentrated sign. I've had chances at some small bucks and one yearling. The deer are just too spread out, too many acorns, hopefully I can get on them soon

Thanks for the update. My lease partner is off working and going tomorrow. I got month end at work this week and there is not way I can get off to go. will have to wait till Saturday and hit it hard.

Went again this morning and my buddy saw 3 but couldn't get a shot and I struck out again not seeing any. Hunted another hardwood/pine transition area where I killed a doe and a decent 8 point year before last. Quite a bit cooler this morning but looking forward to some really cold weather .

At least you saw something and got a shot at it. our lease has so much growth and brose there is no reason for the deer to get up and move anywhere. It is so thick and was wet the first weekend the deer are on you before you see them. We are covering our acorn trees but my buddy has been twice and saw 4 each time but as mentioned they were on him before he could get his bow and draw. I haven't seen a thing.

I'm still twiddling my fingers waiting for gun season to open...

Me too seth. I just picked up another small lease close to my house that looks promising. I can't wait to get in the woods.

I'm gonna head to Georgia tomorrow and pull out the rifle, probly take the bow and rifle, gonna save the boom stick for a big one.

Went Friday. Hunted about 75 yards southeast of hardwood bottom in transition area of small pines into larger pines. Trees still thick with leaves and visibility tough. Heard one spook and run off just south of me then had two does walk north of me about 35 to 40 yards in some really thick stuff that gave me no shot. About 30 minutes later, southeast of me one blew at me. Got down about noon and did a little scouting. Found a nice spot for gun season.
Had things to do today so may try and go tomorrow after church.

Well, they decided to thin the pines on my Georgia lease this weekend. Sat there and listened to loaders and skid steers all weekend. Ruined the hunting, saw 1 doe out of 15 or so hours in the stand in areas where I normally see 5-10 a hunt. Story of my life.

Happened to me the last lease I was on. The pulp-wooders came in 1st day of gun season and stayed the balance of the season. And on top of that Second Saturday of turkey season on same lease, property was sold and locks were changed and I wasn't even told about it. Went hunting that morning and stood there in the dark fumbling with my keys trying to get the gate to unlock. After about 5 minutes, realized the lock was changed and a new sign was on the gate.

Left shoulder giving me trouble again yesterday and had a restless night trying to sleep. Decided to rest it and not attempt to try and shoot bow if given the opportunity today.

Got off work a little early and got in woods about 4 EST. Hunting on the edge of a bottom and could hear acorns fallings. About 5:30PM heard something to my right but could not tell whether it was deer or squirrels. By the time I determined they were 3 does, they were right on me. I timed it perfect and stood undetected. Swinging my bow around, it ticked the tree and they were gone like lightning. Maybe Saturday

I killed a doe yesterday afternoon. Doubled up with a buddy at his club. He shot a decent 9. It was nice to hunt a place where you actually see deer. Got rained out today, I may try to catch an afternoon or two this week

No great story, went with a buddy to his club, he sat me on a food plot, didn't see anything til about too dark to see, then had 3 yearlings come running in, right under my tree, I could hear another deer back in the woods, a doe stepped out, light was fading fast, but I could hear more deer coming, so I waited, when 2 more stepped out. I could tell they had bigger bodies and weren't big bucks, but couldn't tell if they were does or small bucks. So I decided to shoot the first doe that had come under me. I drew back only to realize I couldn't see my pins, closed one eye and I could see my pins but no deer behind them. Open both eyes and I could see her but no pins, did this back and forth for 40 seconds until I thought I was good and smacked her. Couldn't see the arrow hit, but heard it thump the rib cage. She ran about 50yds and I heard her crash and roll a few times. Hit her a bit far back but got lungs and liver. Didn't even have to bend over to follow the blood trail. I'm about to post pics now

I'm sure they will come around more now that gun season is in. I shot another doe with the bow tonight. Actually 2 more but lost one. As I understand it we can only get points for 1 doe per member? I'll be going to the cahaba gun hunt tomorrow. Gonna be hunting horns, although i may take the bow as well in case a nanny decides to act foolish

Great job on the does. You are right on the doe only one per team member but we can improve our score on our bucks. However, if we all kill a doe we get a 5 point bonus.
I hope the team activity picks up. It is really fun when we all participate and share comments and tips . Being a novice hunter, I have picked up a lot of good stuff on what i did wrong and what I should have done on my hunts. The last three teams I have been on about half the folks killed anything and posted very little at all.
