Can't seem to find any deer? I got a new property that I am bow hunting in the crane hill, Cullman/Winston line. I got it late and have hunted 3 times, once was all day, and 2 long mornings. It's mostly hardwoods, with a medium sized pine thicket. I have found some good white oaks, some decent trails in the pines, but still not seen a deer. I guess my question is would you just move locations every time u hunted, or keep sitting on the deer sign? Last hunt I sat on top of a hill with squirrels and acorns all over the place, but no deer. I'm kinda puzzled, figured I would get eyes on deer by now.

Are the deer feeding on the acorns?

Don't just assume that the deer are eating acorns just because they are on the ground. They could be feeding on acorns closer to a bedding area or just perfer somewhere else. Look for cracked open acorns and deer poop where the acorns are. If there are several piles of poop, then they are spending sometime under that tree. Like said above, be patient and keep hunting the fresh sign. Try putting a camera up, if you have one. Good luck.

Put out some corn in front of some cameras. That will give you an idea of what kind of deer you're hunting.
