1. Never try to adjust the cable in your climber while in a tree. (Idiot, thank you Jesus)
2. Never order a bow off of eBay from an archery shop without personally shooting the bow.
3. Spend more time in August and September cutting shooting lanes and less time catching smallmouth.
4. Make sure to save more vacation for bow season.
5. I love to bowhunt more than anything else I do.

For me...

1) Look off the beaten path more often
2) Hunt the thick stuff. If you can get above it you can usually get a clean shot.
3) Having a decent/comfortable safety harness allows you to spend more time in a tree and climb higher while still feeling safe
4) A small coyote looks a lot like a grey fox
5) NEVER TELL THE WIFE YOU PLAN TO "CUT BACK" ON HUNTING THIS SEASON (It will be a lie, and lying to your spouse is never good)

Do #3 in February. It's much cooler and you'll be opening lanes that the bucks are using late in the season. And more time for them to get use to the lanes.

#4 and #5 bow season doesn't go out until Jan. 31st or Feb. 10th, depending on your location.

83% of all statistics are made up.

1. Hunt deer sign, not spots that "look good."
2. Pay extra attention to the wife when you are not hunting to keep her happy when you are.
3. Hunting from the ground is not that bad and keeps you more comfortable so you stay longer.
4. The morning really is better than the evening for mature bucks.
5. Food plots are highly overrated unless you are strictly meat hunting.

Yeah I know but when the Orange Army hits the woods, the deer generally go nocturnal where I hunt. I didn't see but 2 deer last year the entire month of December. It heats up in January when the bucks start chasing.
