How far do you park from your stand and what is your reasoning? I realize it may vary depending on the stand, but do you have a general guideline?

Totally dependent on location. I like to walk at least 250-300 yards usually, but some properties I literally hunt close to the truck.

My typical hike is roughly 1-2 miles, elevation change is typically 300-600 ft
Reasoning : Most of my spots are somewhat remote. I really don't care to shoot deer by the road, I wanna get away from civilization ...

If I am hunting public then its usually a mile one way... I do not choose to walk this far because I like it. That is just my favorite spot and there is a gate so I have to walk. There are a few other spots I hunt that are not that far but usually 3/4 of a mile or greater.. If I am at my farm in Blount County I would say no more than half a mile..

Just depends in the location. Trucks dont bother deer I've had them walk right by mine many times sitting in the woods or watching plots from it when im not hunting.
