we got in about hour and half ago. other than camping there it was a big let down. hardly any deer out. saw one drove of turkeys. 5 different gobblers. the best highlight was seeing 2 bears playing in a field. we also got a video of a 130 something 8 point making a scrape, right at the edge of the road. i think the deer and turkeys were in the woods gorging on acorns, they was heavy everywhere. too bad we didnt stay tonight they talking about a bunch of snow.

As soon as the gates open is when you want to be there. Awesome

I don't see near as many deer there as I did when they were running cattle in there.

the 2 mornings we went early, we was the 2nd and third truck waiting to come out of the campground to get in line. yesterday morning was so foggy you coundnt see 100 yards in the fields. saw 2 bucks then a small spike and a basket 8 in different spots.

We went 2 to 3 times a year from 02 to 12 saw 50 to 100 deer each trip up till bout 09 started seeing fewer every trip since went this summer think we seen around dozen.truly believe they have done away with a lot of the deer.but I do agree that early is the best time to go.also a little info if you don't no better wear your seat belt I got a warning ticket by a park ranger for not having mine own.
