I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. When my boys were young we read the x-x Boys series. Now they are a favorite of Will's, and he is reading the Hardy Boys books. I like the fact they are clean, not badly written, and the good guys always win. It was like TV when I was growing up, you might say it was wholesome fun. F Troop, Rat Patrol, Hogans Heroes, all the westerns. No bad language, no wardrobe malfunction, no open sex. A kid could watch anything, and guns were not bad. Let us cross over the river and rest in the shade of the trees Stonewall Jackson Hug your loved ones often, Life is short even on its longest days. I don't see the glass as half full or half empty. I just finish it and order another.

Every one had essentially the same plot and phrasing, although I didn't catch onto that as a kid. Good books way back in the day. Frank and Joe always fought crime in their neat sweaters and button-down dress shirts and always referred to their friends as "chums." Boy, that goes WAY back in years. It wasn't until 1987 that Hardy Boys books featured any murder or real violence.
