So my wife is ready for a new Suburban.....I went today and looked at a few 15 models. Is there a website I can go to to see the actual selling price of these. i.e. sticker says 48k, what can I expect to walk away actually paying.

True car, or just buy the invoice on line and a dealer somewhere will sell it for invoice

$48,000 sounds cheap. When I was looking for my wofe a couple of weeks ago, they were all close to or over $60,000.

Base models around 48. LTZ's over 60. My wife just needs the basic model.

My wife is not very fond of the word either. Honestly the main difference in the base model is leather. She's had leather for a while now an hates it in the winter.

True Car is a joke, when I was in the business, I printed it off the invoice from Ford/Chevy website, circled invoice price, knocked off whatever rebates they qualified for and it was done. Too bad more dealerships aren't like that.

GM Familly First website will give you the employee pricing and supplier pricing for specific models. Without qualifying for the employee discount you won't be able to get that low but it will give you a good starting point.

Exactly what I was thinking. Take that 48k and put it into a rental property or something that's going to make you money and pay cash for something used

48k 60K WTF. I love people that buy new cars and ditch them when they get close to 100k miles. At which point they can be had for less than 40% of original price especially if it has a couple dents, scratches or faded paint. Most cars today will last to 200k if treated half way decently.

Too many boys never learned how to change a flat tire or brakes or oil much less anything much beyond a tune up. Pay some minimum wage guy at wally world to do what they should do themselves for less. Then get tired of it when the first $400 bill comes up for a couple O2 sensors or some other such minimal repair. When our children can't fix the things they own they are set up to be just another sucker high level consumer.

That's why I work on my own vehicles. If I'm unsure youtube is my best friend. We didn't have much growing up and I still don't now so I HAVE to work on my own to get by. If I had the money I still don't think I would pay it

I've had two mechanics tell me in the last two weeks that 200k miles is nothing on today's vehicles. One of them has a truck with 300k and his wife has a suburban with over 200k. My 2010 F150 truck has 136k miles and still looks and runs great. I've had 3 people in the last month try to buy it from me. One guy was willing to pay $22k for it. Taking care of it is the key.

I wont buy new , i just got a 2012 f150 xlt 4x4 with 125k for a lot less than 20k. It was a company truck probably a boss . Clean as a pin runs and drive like new. Didnt feel near as bad when i found the skid pan on a wash out berm this week as it would have if i spent 40k .
