Guy in my camp got this pic on his game cam. We've had this lease for over 20 years and have never seen or heard of bears in the area. We do not have a feeding program so I guess he wandered into the area by chance. I'm concerned this will jack up our season of he hangs around. How much do you think this guy weighs?

I wouldn't have thought bears would be surprise ANYWHERE in Mobile County.

Are y'all in the south end near Bayou La Batre or near Bellingrath? Anything from Chicasaw Bogue N I thought was full of bears.

Keep em on y'alls side of the river!

I enjoy the pics. But, I do not ever want another one anywhere near my places. They are a nuisance.

Does ALhave a bear season? Just take em out if there is. I'd freak out if I ever saw a bear while hunting haha!

Are they protected because we only have a small population of them or what. I know bigT is covered in them. Seems like bears could be a big nuisance in large numbers.

I'm no bear guru, but I will guess that one weighs about 225 or less.

I am just so tickled that my little buddies are expanding and more people are getting to enjoy the elusive Alabama black bear which is getting less and less elusive every year wink

In NW Florida I think they investigate a bear shooting more
in depth than a murder.

I haven't heard of any killed by hunters. Cars have killed a few. They get in garbage and rob bee hives and bird feeders. They will destroy a corn feeder when it runs out and they like humming bird feeders too.

There was a small group of guys from around the Washington County/Mobile County line area that hunted and killed bears with a passion. They hated them!
Several of them got caught.....and a few big leases changed hands....and the killing has slowed to nil.

Seeing how quickly the bears are rebounding makes me wonder just how many they were really killing!!!!
