Just curious if any members have used Huntinggpsmaps software with the current club or public lands that you may be hunting? I have tried to research online for information regarding Alabama or surrounding states but seems most of the users are Midwest hunters. Any info with ease of use and how accurate property lines would very helpful in deterring if this is something I want to invest in. I know accuracy is determined by gps unit and other factors but just wanting to make sure the data is what im looking for prior to purchase. If anybody has this software for Alabama could you please respond with information?

I am aware of what your talking about...wish i knew more to tell you. I use the scoutlook app for iphone or android. Its gps based but does not tell you informaation about boundary lines. Pretty handy app though.Has some very useful features!!

Well I went an pulled the trigger, it does have iPhone/iPad or computer based options but I was needing something that could get me close on property lines thus the wanting to use it with a gps, it should be arriving shortly. I hope can respond back with positive feed back.

You could find yourself in a lot of trouble basing what you think is a property line off of a computer and a handheld GPS.

NOTHING YOU WILL FIND ONLINE OR ON ANY APP WILL ACCURATELY MONUMENT A PROPERTY LINE.

County tax maps (google your county name and "GIS") usually have a pretty good database of recent property lines. Keep in mind they have a disclaimer and are for informational purposes only. You can use this in conjunction with aerial/satellite images to get a pretty good idea of a line.

If you have a decent starting point, look for the obvious signs such as painted trees, old wire or posts.

Where is the land owner? If they don't know ask the adjoiner. You don't need to be guessing. Credit to you for attempting to figure it out. Good luck.

OnX hunt is the same thing I think. Never heard of the one your talking about but I do have onX hunt and it shows proptery lines and owner info. It is very very close to lines but like LoCo said it ain't 100%.
