I think the bubble still shows as a pass. Reason I ask, I heard Eli Gold say something to the effect that it would show up as a run. I don't know. That's why I was asking the experts. If it does show up as a run, it would affect the stats.

Since I don't see a lot of run stats for receivers I don't think it does.

# of passes might be similar, but it is WHERE the passes are thrown that dictate the yardage gains.
Bubble Screens that teams have trouble defending will add yardage. More Deep balls will add yardage.
Sims has more yards and TD throws, and for that his rating is high compared to McElroy and McCarron. Could it be that the former 2 QBs were throwing more short yardage balls by design?

As bad as they were they still scored rings.
I figured AJ would have had better numbers.
Aj's numbers aren't bad at all. Blake's are just better

I agree with Hunterbuck, Sims has a much more talented receiving crew that the other 2. Also, Sims is no Andrew Luck but he ain't a bad QB at all. I think Bama is fortunate to have him.

Comparing Sims to AJ and McElroy I can't believe there has been 27 replies to such a black and white comparison.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Sims numbers are a little better because CNS has relaxed his stance on offense.
Such a brilliant observation considering there's only 3 pass attempts separating all 3 of them. Seems like the very same balanced attack as always. But the bubble screens show up as running plays, right? If pass goes forward it counts as passing yards. Backwards pass counts as rushing yards.

Correct. Forward pass is the passing statistic.

I think one factor that is not measurable is Sims patience and loyalty to the tide. That kid deserves every accolade he can get. I have a lot of respect for him. And he is a good QB.
