My daughter, 15, takes her lunch everyday. Says school lunches are terrible.

I just graduate in '14 and I would go hungry most days and go eat after school skip lunch or every now and then eat it but it was the nastiest chit you will ever eat and plus it was $2.10 just to have a "'meat" and two veggies

School breakfast was where it's at when I was in school. 85cents for cheese grits eggs sausage and cheese toast

school lunches are dog crap. I wish I was joking but they are sub prison and hospital food. I've skipped lunch every day for the 10 years I've worked in schools when I couldnt bring my own. Govt restrictions are insane.....500 calorie max per meal.....nobody eats a whole tray so we're talking 2/300 calories per kid per meal....youre right, michelle, thatll slim em down in a hurry!! These diets that cut out/limit fats and proteins while promoting tons of high carb sugary fruits arent doing your kids any favors.....especially if theyd like to be athletes with a muscular frame. Our govt is getting the school lunch thing baaaaaaad wrong right now. pack your own
