Love to have the gun but am I reading right that the bidding STARTED at $545? Says that on the right side of the ad. I saw the no reserve, but what does that mean over there?

I'd pay $400 for it in a red hot second and DRIVE to Huntsville to get it.

Rob it simply means that $545 is the lowest it would sell for and there's no reserve. All you gotta do is bid $546 to win. The gun is worth that. If I didn't have 2 of these in the safe you wouldn't have to worry about it I'd buy it.

If it takes $545+ to buy it, it has a reserve. $545.

To me a no reserve auction is the same as an absolute auction. I can understand starting the bid SOMEWHERE. But doing it at $545 seems to be inhibiting the bidding.

If I didn't have a Ruger compact in.260 and a Browning A Bolt my son wants to sell in .243 WSSM I'd be very interested in it too. My son repossessed the Ruger from me for this season. Thank goodness I found a Remington model 7 in .260 last year.

If this is the guy i think it is, I bought a pellet gun from him last year. I work in Huntsville about 5 miles from his location. I bid top dollar for this gun and he would not let me drive over or meet to get the gun but wanted to charge $30 to ship it less than 10 miles. So he basically got to keep the gun and I got a no paying bidder. Oh well it was his loss for being an a$$. I wouldn't buy it from him for $300.

good price if gun is in top condition. I have 2 Abolts and love the guns. Used and scratched up $545 would be top price.

Pretty sure this is a sales broker - they take guns in on consignment then do the complete sales process. There is one called "Silent Industries" in Madison that does this. They charge a percentage of the sale and the seller doesn't have to deal with transfer, FFL, photos, the public or shipping.

The guy I am talking about was a dealer and had a shop on Clinton Ave. The gun I bid on was a pellet gun so no FFL was required. I offered to meet him at Big Spring Cafe which was less than a mile from his shop but he wouldn't do it and insisted that I pay the shipping. Oh I had cash in hand but he insisted on a credit card, the whole deal was really suspicious.

I've dealt with that guy on Clinton Ave before. He's legit but real secretive. I don't think he is licensed to sell retail in that location or something. He probably thought you were the po po.
