I got the bushnell truth and I like it but haven't hunted with it yet. If I remember correctly it was $150. A buddy of mine got his wife one of those cheap halo range finders and he said if the temp is below about 40 it won't work. The Nikon aculon is really nice and small and has good reviews but it doesn't have the angle compensator in it, if it did I would have bought it. I bought my bushnell on eBay.

I musta really got lucky with my Halo, battery lasted all last year and still full and used it in weather down into the teens. It has the angle compensator also, I love it.

I've got a bushnell 1000 with ARC. I like it.

I upgraded my old worn out one with a Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC on Ebay yesterday for $150. It has both bow and rifle modes. You may have to do a little shopping around and be patient to find a good deal on one but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better rangefinder in the $150-$200 range that offers all the same functions.

Bought the Nikon Aculon at Bass Pro the other day, and I'm very satisfied. I tried the Nikon Prostaff 7 and it was also nice, but the price on the Aculon is hard to beat. I didn't like the Bushnell Truth because it was a little difficult to see the yardage. Didn't even look at the Halo because it's made by wildgame and they suck. Nikon is the way to go..lifetime warranty and good prices. If you wana spend the money then Leupold RX-1000i is the bomb. It has red led display and is very east to see. But the Nikon Aculon was my favorite out of all I tried out. best price, and it is the smallest out of the group..easily fits in shirt pocket. The angle compensation thing doesn't really matter much unless you take long bow shots..My comfort range is within 40 yards so I'm fine without ARC.

ended up going with this one yesterday afternoon from Dicks. I'm not a fan of wildgame but for whatever reason and reading some reviews I thought I would give it a shot. (the 30.00 rebate helped to) it was the cheapest I could find that also had the angle deal with it. I got it out yesterday and played with it some and from that little bit I think it will work for what I need it to. It was accurate at known yardages. I kept the receipt and will see how I like it over the next few days in the tree. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=22814756 I really liked the aculon but what sold me on this one was the angle ranging.

Good luck man. Hopefully it will last longer than one season like most wildgame products tend to do. What kinda warranty do they carry?
