Anyone have one or tried one? Opinions on them? Seems like you can save lots of money by just hunting with the right wind...

Took someones in the can with me after chili and hotdog night at the camp, I was thoroughly impressed at my ability to stand myself in such close quarters.

Interesting test but I wouldn't waste time setting it up or carrying it around.

I got one last year, if u are in a confined place like a box or pop up blind, they're deadly. Had deer within steps of me several times in a pop up blind and they came from downwind. I wouldnt waste my time with it if I was in a tree. I also run it in my hunting box with all of my clothes in it.

Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

I've got one and they work! I ALWAYS hunt the wind, but deer do not always come downwind...saved my butt at least 3 times last year

My theory: "Wherever you go - there you blow". So, you're blowing scent SOMEWHERE no matter where you hunt. That said, I'm not currently considering spending that money just to lug it around in the woods.

I am highly considering buying one if these. I try and hunt the wind the best I can. Set up with a good wind from where I think the deer are coming from, but most places I hunt they could show up from literally any direction

I think it was in Field and Stream, not too long ago. Someone tested one of these machines with drug dogs and found that in each test, no matter the type of concealment used, that the dog found the hidden item. However, they indicated that the ozonics machine delayed the find by several seconds compared to the other tests. It does not eliminate odors but it might reduce it enough to give you 5 - 10 more seconds to make a shot undetected.
Best best, IMO, is be as odor free as possible and always hunt the wind.

My question is this. How would you know that it was working? When i'm 30' up a tree, with the wind in my face, and the deer comes in from downwind, i know the deer didn't smell me, but i don't use scent free clothing, scent killler sprays, take a bath every morning, and i don't have one of these gadgets. I hear people always say, well he came in down wind and the reason he didn't smell me, was because of my scent control. I don't use any scent control, other than sure deoderant, and i have deer come in downwind of me all the time. It's called thermals. Hunt high and hunt the ridges. Scent rises, i know it falls somewhere, but i can't control that. I also know, that there's nothing manmade that can control my scent well enough to fool a deer's nose. If there were, drug smugglers would be using it to fool drug dogs. Deer have more scent receptors on their nose than dogs, which means, they have a better scense of smell. Dogs can find drugs, wrapped in plastic, submerged in a gas tank. How in the hell do you compete with that? You can't. Deer smell chemicals in molecules of scent in a way we'll never understand. How does anyone know, if a deer can smell the scentkiller sprays that some use? Just because you can't smell it, don't mean squat. Be a good woodsman. Hunt the wind. Don't over hunt stands. Don't hunt stands with marginal winds. Know your woods, like the back of your hand. Hunt as much as you can, but remember, it's quality hunting, not quantity hunting that is the key. Lastly, know the travel routes of the deer on your property, and change it up from time to time.

Nobody knows 100% if it works! I'm no wingnut hunter that hauls around a bunch of chit in the woods and set off tink bombs etc... I Always hunt the wind but that doesn't mean that's the way the deer are coming in. The ONLY reason I bought one was several good friends/excellent hunters, one in which is a producer for one of the most popular hunting shows (and no they are not sponsored by them) swore by them! They always use them but do not let the camera's show them. I'll give you one example...my last day in IL last year i had a SW wind and the deer should have been coming due south, they didnt, they popped up 20-25 yards behind me directly downwind...they was uphill from me so they was close to eyelevel when they came out...they fed in that spot for prob 5 minutes and slowly worked their way away from staying directrly downwind the entire time...20 min later they were 40-50 yards from me still feeding..never smelt me...about 20 min after that, i had 3 bucks come from the same spot except they fed the other direction and went upwind of me...I'm 99% convinced that if I wouldn't of had the ozonics, both groups would of prob busted me, for sure the does because they stayed downwind of me so long. Maybe it was a coinsidence but I'll always use it.
It takes up about as much room as my binoculars in my backpack and doesn't weigh anything.

Another gimmick designed to separate you from your money. They'll be trying to sell has-mat suits eventually, lol. Just hunt!
