I want to plant stuff for Fall but my peppers are still producing. I either need to build another raised bed or just turn my peppers under.

I'm still making peppers, picked about 3 lbs today off of just 8 plants.

3toe, from his reply, I don't think it will be more peppers.

Skinny if you got enough cut them back and overwinter them. You will be ahead of the game next spring and already have established, good producing plants.

How do you do that? Do you dig them up and put them in pots?

Yes dig them up and put in a good sized pot. Keep indoors and enjoy peppers all winter. I've got a couple I'm going to do this year.

*I don't take credit for this Learned it on a gardening channel I've watched for some time now on youtube.

"Mhpgardener" has some awesome stuff. He winters some of his best producing peppers each year in a small greenhouse to keep from heating the larger ones during the winter...He's in Virginia. I've seen some of his jap plants 8'tall.

I do the same thing. Put them in pots in front of a south facing window. Had a couple in my office over the winter. .... they were "ornamental plants. " I've got three plants that are going into their fourth winter. I don't cut them back unless they are in need of a haircut to clean things up.

One thing I learned is that, although peppers love the heat in the garden, you better keep the heat vents from blowing on them. It'll wilt them pretty bad.
