I've got some of these from a while back that are practically new, and am thinking of using them this year instead of my Muzzy 3 blades. Anyone ever shoot a deer with the Spitfire's, and if so how did they do?

Every deer I've killed since the late 90's has been with them. Haven't found any reason to change. Don't reckon I will either unless curiosity gets the best of me.

used em twice, poor penetration and long tracking jobs on good hits. Recovered both deer by the hardest. Never again.

I use the 125 spitfire xp pros which are similar to yours, except they have a blade on the tip and no rubber bands. They work great.

But if they use rubber bands to keep the blades shut, I'm not fond of that design.

The Spitfire's I've got don't use any type of bands to remain closed. The only thing I've killed with them was a bobcat, and it did a fine job back fhen.

I have only shot two deer with them but both went less than 20 yards and left a huge blood trail.

I shoot Muzzys. I tried these once, nailed a doe (watched a quartering away deer take it right behind the shoulder) and never found her. Put my trusty Muzzys back on and haven't looked back.

Save those Spitfires for armadillos and coons.

I shot them when they first came out in the early 90's. Lost a few dear with them. I don't think the early models were opening like they were designed to. I stopped shooting them.
