HOW SHOULD THIS BE SET.. SHOULD IT BE TOUCHING THE STRING WHEN THE STRING IS AT REST OR ABOUT A CREDIT CARD THICKNESS AWAY FROM THE STRING. MY BOWTECH HAS A SLIGHT TWANG TO IT WHEN FIRED.. MIGHT BE BECAUSE I HAVE NO OTHER SILENCERS ON IT JUST THE MONKEY TAILS ON THE STRING

I set them with a credit card gap. I don't doubt you but that is the reasoning behind that? I figured if the string was on it at rest, it would take some vibration out of the string itself. But that's based on my dumbazz reasoning.

If you have the bowtech factory hollow carbon rod on your string stop take it off and pack that rod full of foam ear plugs and that will quieten it down even more.
