this may be a stupid question but I'm relatively new at bowhunting (this will be my 3rd season). Got a new bow recently and broadheads are hitting about 4" low @ 30 yds.
should I adjust the sight, the rest or both?
My gear, for what it's worth - '13 PSE Bowmadness (60#, 28"), Easton ST Epic 340's with Muzzy 100gr heads. Sight is a Truglo range rover single pin slider.

Interesting....I've got another set of arrows I'd been trying that were shooting the same elevation as my field points at a given range, but were shooting to the left (I'm a lefty shooter) which means according to the chart above, they were underspined. but those arrows should have been right in the center of the correct spine range.
I'll keep tinkering and see what I can come up with

Shaw can expound more on this but charts are just to give you a good starting point. Ive seen 1lb of adjustment and 1/4" cut off an arrow make all the difference. I cant remember the exact arrow length on my bow but its a pretty random number. A "sweet spot" I found by trimming 1/4" at a time till it shot the way I wanted. Theres a lot more to "tuning" a bow than just turning a few allen wrenches, most people just never shoot well enough to notice the difference. Hell I dont either right now.

If they're hitting 4" low that's an easy fix. Move your rest up in 1/16" increments until the broadheads hit with the field points. Getting the left and right out is where it gets tricky. This has to do with the arrow spine and whether or not you're doing something wrong with your grip.
With today's bows, most of those charts are wrong. As a general rule of thumb, go up one spine size on what they recommend.

Move the rest only. The .340 and .359's are a tad on the stiff side for your set up but should tune fine.

10-4.......thanks for your help. One last question and I'll leave you be for a while...if those shafts are a little stiff for my setup, would you recommend trying 125gr heads or just stick with my 100gr Muzzy's and call it a day?

I'd stick with the 100's if your not having any left/right issues with your broadheads that you can't tune out with your rest.
