With all the talk about apple corn on the site I had to try it out...stuff is great!!! 2 big 8 points, spike, and many doe coming through during the day.

Coons like apple corn also. Stopped em from climbing the legs with a cheap tube of grease. Any humane home made ideas, tricks that y'all had luck with getting rid of coons? Don't wana shoot em this close to season and coon cuffs cost money...

Where are all of the replies stating how you won't see any deer there now because of infecting the area with scent?

Buy some dukes dog proof traps and go to work catching the coons.

I put out two traps on top of the corn pile, catch em, then take em a couple miles down the road and turn em out near my neighbors corn pile.

Put truss plates on your feeder legs. Like these. They make multiple sizes. Run them up the feeder legs so the coons will not climb up. Works well for me.

I use the 5 gallon bucket feeders and attach them to a tree with a hook. I then take aluminum flashing and wrap it around the tree, securing it with a staple gun. I use the two tone kind and put the brown side facing out. I cut 3-4 sections and wrap it around the tree starting from the bottom about 3' off the ground, making sure to overlap so there's nothing for the coons to grab. I make sure that the flashing goes half way past the bottom of the bucket. This prevents them from accessing the spinner from the top. You'll see all kinds of skid marks on the flashing where they've slid down it. Since I've started doing this I have never had a coon on cam hanging from my feeders.

do you bend the truss plates around the legs?

You can but they make small ones, 2 inches in width I believe that fit small legs pretty well. Just screw them on and press them around the leg with something that will not fold the teeth down.

Hadn't thought of these little knuckle busters, but these look like the best of everything I've tried. Thanks!!

If I am not mistaken there is a company out there that makes them in long strips now just for feeder legs.

$20 bucks seems high when you could just use truss plates. I own a truss plant and the plates are pretty cheap. You'd probably have to let them know what your doing with them. I've had people come in wanting to buy plates to build their own trusses but wouldn't sell them since they need to be pressed in and most people don't own the proper equipment for that. If asked for this however I would sell them as long as I wasn't low on inventory.

I have heard that tack strips used for carpet work pretty good for coons

Had a cam on a feeder and I swear I think the coons fought off deer. We only had one pic of a deer and she was 10yds away from it while they ate. Gonna give these a shot

Mix this :

with Grapico in a little cup close to the corn. Then they will leave your corn alone.
